Jim Hart of Lightfoot Group has served as a court-appointed receiver, consultant and interim manager for over thirty years. As a receiver, he has run and administered companies in multiple industries, while performing court-ordered tasks and often assisting in the resolution of underlying litigation and business disputes. These assignments included a $100 million publicly traded mortgage banking company and an $80 million dollar charitable foundation.
In certain circumstances, private companies can benefit from the presence of short-term or interim management. As noted under the Management & Ownership Transitions service section, Lightfoot has served as an interim manager on numerous occasions. These include situations in which companies were searching for permanent managers, management was in turmoil due to disputes and litigation, and the incapacitation of previous managers.
Jim has served as a business consultant for over three decades. During this time, he has performed a wide variety of tasks and special projects for business owners, their corporate counsel, CPAs, and other advisers, trustees, beneficiaries, claims holders, lenders and investors.
